OUR VISION

It's simple. Divert coffee grounds from landfill.

Australia produces over 67 million tonnes of waste per year and 14.2 million tonnes of that is organic waste. Half of this organic waste is sent directly to landfill. Organic waste (food, timber, garden waste, biosolids) is important to note due to its potential to produce harmful greenhouse gases during degradation such as methane, a potent greenhouse gas around 30 x stronger than carbon dioxide by itself.

Of this organic waste, 7.3 million tonnes is food waste alone and 34% of it is produced by the foodservice and hospitality sector where you purchase your morning cup of coffee. In Australia, we consume 6 billion cups of coffee every year and from these beautiful brews, cafes produce between 50-100kgs of coffee grounds per week, contributing to the total amount of organic waste generated.

Therefore, we have an agreement with our partners to collect and use or redistribute their coffee grounds to farmers, community gardens, parklands, school grounds and council green spaces.

We also formulate natural coffee-based products for you to purchase to support our cause.
